The Mysterious Orgonite: Positive Orgone Energy for Holistic Healing

Orgone energy was first characterized by Dr. Wilhelm Reich in the 20th century. This energy, however, has been known for millennia by cultures all across the world by different names, such as chi, prana, universal life force, ether, akasha, etc. Orgone energy, harnessed in the proper way, has the potential to transform your life spiritually, physically, mentally, and emotionally so that you can express who you are and who you were meant to be.

One of the first mentions of a device very similar to orgonite was by Franz Bardon (1909-1958), a Hermetic practitioner who had great experience with the occult and healing. In his 1956 book Inititiation into Hermetics – A Course of Instruction of Magic Theory & Practice – he mentions a device called a “fluid condenser” which can be used to store etheric energy. These condensers can be solid, liquid or aeroform. Bardon’s solid condenser consists of a mixture of the seven planetary metals (lead, tin, iron, gold, copper, brass and silver), coal and resin – practically the same ingredients as orgonite!

Orgonite as we know it was first made by Austrian Karl Hans Welz. In 1991, he improved on Reich’s orgone accumulator by creating a device made of metal particles cast in resin. Unlike the ORAC which accumulated both positive orgone (POR) or deadly orgone (DOR), Welz’ “orgone generator” turned DOR into POR.

Don and Carol Croft improved on the original orgonite formula in the early 2000s, by adding a crystal to the resin-metal mix. The quartz crystal, with its piezoelectric effect, amplifies the energy and aids in transforming DOR. Some believe that orgonite without a quartz crystal will over the long term become an orgone accumulator, which can be harmful if it is placed in an area heavy with DOR. The Crofts were also pioneers in the orgonite gifting movement, which has now spread worldwide.

Often modern-day orgonite devices contain healing crystals and can be formed in shapes that use sacred geometry, like pyramids, etc., that pay homage to the ancient world and give a nod to our worldly ancestors who would have already been well versed in orgone.

While orgonite can be made into many shapes, the pyramid is a popular form because pyramids are renowned for their ability to amplify and transmit energy. Crafting orgonite into a pyramid shape is an easy way to enhance its positive effects. Orgonite pyramids do not eliminate the electromagnetic energy; instead, they reorganize the pattern of the energy to one that is harmonized for the human body.

Orgonite pyramids are crafted by blending resin composite with metal shavings and crystals. During the curing process, the resin composite shrinks, permanently squeezing the quartz crystal which creates a piezoelectric effect inside the crystal, i.e., its end-points become polarized electrically. It is believed this is what causes the orgonite pyramid to function so effectively as a positive energy generator.

The use of different materials can add to the impact as well. For example, copper and amethyst aid intuition. Black tourmaline enhances understanding and increases self-confidence. And rose quartz boosts inner peace and harmony.
